As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you are the driving force behind product innovation, strategic partnerships, and the expansion of the product range. You are responsible for the entire process from concept to implementation, working closely with various departments to strengthen Viking's market position.

Your responsibilities:

  • Identifying and realizing strategic partnerships that contribute to Viking's growth and long-term value.
  • Leading complex negotiations with suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Structuring and finalizing strategic agreements, such as alliances, sourcing deals, and joint ventures.
  • Developing and managing the assortment strategy, including product selection, onboarding, and pricing.
  • Ensuring market-conform and competitive pricing in sourcing and supplier selection.
  • Establishing and expanding the private label assortment, including product definition and tender processes.
  • Creating and executing sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Leading negotiations on price, contract terms, and cash flow with suppliers.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and improving their performance based on KPIs.
  • Collaborating with Sales and other internal teams to translate customer needs and market developments into strategic product propositions.

You are a commercial generalist with strategic insight and strong analytical skills. You thrive in a dynamic environment where ownership and initiative are central.

What you bring:

  • 5–10 years of relevant work experience in business development, partnerships, vendor management, or assortment strategy.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a focus on value creation and margin improvement.
  • HBO/WO work and thinking level, preferably in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or similar (MBA is a plus).
  • Fluent in English (working language); Dutch and/or German is a plus.
  • Experience with product and pricing strategies in multiple markets or countries.
  • Analytical mindset: you interpret market data, forecast cost developments, and translate this into strategy.
  • Full-time availability.

You will be part of the newly established Business Development team: a small, agile team with a big impact. You will report directly to the head of Business Development & Corporate Communications and work closely with colleagues both locally and internationally.


 
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
  • 36 vacation days (24 + 12 ADV)
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
  • Travel reimbursement of €0.23 per km
